Ken founded Jones Melling with Gary Melling during the recession in 2009, when the economy was flat and pessimism was rife. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor who has worked on both the Client and Contractor side, giving him valuable insight into both contractor and consultancy work. Ken is responsible for the financial planning and strategic presence of the business, spearheading the Quantity Surveying and Project Management service lines.
Ken has previously worked for some large players in the industry namely Laing O’Rourke, Sir Robert McAlpine and Costain on the contractor side, followed by a boutique consultancy based in Manchester called CNP, famed for their speed of turnaround and candid advice. His qualifications include MRICS (Chartered 2007), and BSc (Hons) in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying. In addition he is a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors (MFPWS).
When not working, Ken enjoys family time, cycling, pretending to play squash and doing DIY – both at home and on his own property portfolio.
