Jones Melling was approached by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) to prepare a detailed defect survey of the building envelope to their head office buildings at Mallinson House in St Albans which is a Grade 2 listed property.

The property is a collection of listed buildings and more modern extensions that covers a substantial section of the high street in central St Albans.

The building survey highlighted a number of defects to the structure and fabric with associated budget costings for repair.

Jones Melling was subsequently instructed to liaise with the Local Authority Listed Building Officer and compile a specification of works for the remedial works required and to then progress the project.

Jones Melling assisted in managing the tender and contractor appointment and continued in a contract administration role on site throughout the project to completion.

On completion the remedial work has brought the building back to its former glory, sympathetically maintaining a prominent listed building in central St Albans for the client.
