New North London Synagogue

New North London Synagogue, North London

Project details

Jones Melling was instructed by the New North London Synagogue to undertake a planned preventative maintenance survey of the Synagogue and its grounds.

The survey was carried out over two days with the initial building survey undertaken in a day and the mechanical and electrical survey undertaken over another in conjunction with Walmsley Associates of Chorley.

Preparing the survey entailed assessing the current condition of every element of the building including the exterior and interior as well as the area surrounding the building and hardstandings.

This included surveying the roofing, floor coverings, decorations, external windows and doors and driveways, parking and outside areas. As well as reporting the current condition, an assessment was made to determine the life span of the existing building elements and what repairs or replacements would be required over the next five years.

Our survey outlined all capital costs required, broken down by area, room, element, with an indication of the timeline for each repair or replacement, and included clear priorities and condition ratings for each item.

The survey will be utilised by the New North London Synagogue to assess exactly what capital expenditure is likely to be required over the next five years.
