Royal boroguh mews arch

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Residents’ Association

Project details

Jones Melling was instructed by the association to undertake a survey of mews arches across the borough and prepare a report.

The 10 identified mews arches were of varying size, design and age and were identified by the association as in dire need of repair.

Specific survey reports were required for each arch. The building surveys included the detail of their condition, what remedial works were required and detailed repair methods as well as a budget outlining the cost estimates and programme advice for undertaking the remedial works.

The survey also included advice relating to Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act. It also outlined the legal and practical implications for either undertaking or not undertaking remedial works to the arches.
